  Nope, no glue, just screws holding it down. I slightly bent it to be flat with my fingers...

  Looking at the mounting of your Lowe's cone it looks as if you maybe glued down the rim of the cone before screwing it down(?) I think I'll do that on mine to tone down the wavy mounting edge instead of making a beauty ring.
  Be sure to make a video so we can hear how it sounds.
