It's a cutlery case I found at the thrift shop for $1. It had an insert in it that apparently held a few carving knives. Ripped that out and sanded the inside clean. The exterior is original finish with a little lemon oil rubbed in. The corners and hasps were my addition. It's designed for standard upright play, but could be used for lap too.
I was pleasantly suprised with the acoustic sound - very rustic and surisingly loud. The amplified tone is exactly what you'd expect from an old DeArmond - loud, raw, and very rock n' roll. It's a lot of fun to play and weighs in at around 3 lbs., sim to a CBG.
