  • I just saw that tenor on FB, looks awesome! I will definitely look into a hammered lids for a future build!
  • Good deal on the next one.  I have a big box tenor with a bean lid reso.  It sounds great, but now I am thinking about learning to hammer a lid.  I got two from Maddog and used one.   Sounds good and is less flexy than unhammered.

  • Thanks, Uncle John! Yeah, I was a pretty surprised to get so much sound out of it too. I gave the plate the ol' flick test at the thrift shop and it rang nicely, so I figure it couldn't be any worse than a paint can lid. I just picked up an even bigger decorative aluminum plate, so it'll be interesting to see if it works as well.
  • Ahh,  I heard this on FB and wondered what the reso was.   It looks good, and I don't mean to be unkind, but I am surprised that tray reso sounds so good.  I would not have expected that.  Super nice build.
