It was a friend's birthday on Saturday...and my wife was asking me what we should get him as a present, as we had been invited to his birthday party. I said I could probably make him a simple one string fiddle, as he is keen on music, and has made his own violins in the past. So at 10.00am I took a piece of timber, sketched out the neck directly onto it..and by 3.00pm I had this ready to gift wrap and take to the party...a lot more personal than a bottle of wine I think.
