freshened up one of my first bass builds. rock hard maple thru neck, tigerwood finger board, added lace humbucker,(bar type. no poles), gold strings, new wiring. antique box so fragile i filled space with glued maple blocks, glued top down. big mistake for refit.

  • thanks pick. sound is great. this photo is test strings. put gold strings on, look awesome, but they are for regular bass, not short scale. when i brought them up to pitch they were so tight they were scary.

  • thank you 43rd. yes, the woodburner is very useful, and for fret markers even better than countersunk screws.  even works for tattoos, albeit a bit painful for a bit.
