  • Thanks Darren.  Had a problem with string pressure denting in the saddle area.  Bolstered it  underneath and back in business.

  • ever nice i like that .

  • I really like, good job.

  • Thanks Bruce!   Got it tweaked.  Good player.  Fair to good acoustic and dandy plugged.

  • Awesome rod!! And the lyrics just pour from you too? NIce

  • Well, Tom Bingham gave me the idea for this song.  Will try to record and post it after the git is tweaked.

    Junkyard Angel by Uncle John

I was seventeen when I bought that Oldsmobile.
Bought it at a junk yard, ohh what a deal.
It had a big V-8, A big V8 – made those tires squeal.

I had a part time job and it was all I could afford.
Drove it like a fool and always had it floored.
It was my junk yard Olds, my junk yard Olds, oh good Lord!

Second week I had it, I blew out a rear tire.
I met a junk yard girl and my heart just caught on fire.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, she was so fine.

I was in high school and she was a college girl
    I didn’t have a chance but I gave it a whirl.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, I wanted her.

She looked out of place workin’ the counter at the junk yard.
But her daddy owned the place and she needed a summer job.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, she was so fine.

She shot me down fast, I never had a chance.
I was too young and too poor for a shot at that romance.
She was a junkyard angel, a junk yard angel, so fine
A junk yard angel, I wish she was mine. I wish she was mine.
  • Tweak, man, tweak! We wanna hear your new song, "When The Wheels Come Off"
  • Thanks, Andy.  You guys are motivating me to go out to the COLD shop and do some tweaking.

  • Super Hubber..

  • Thanks guys.  Stickers from O'Reilly's Auto Parts.  Car pin-striping for fret markers.  Plays okay.  Will play well when I lower the biscuit under the wrench saddle.

Okay, the fretting.  I like to play boogie stuff on the middle string.   So besides open and hitting the middle string at the second - the boogie note-  of course I use a finger bar at the 5th or 7th quite a lot and the middle string boogie note 2 frets below those.....   So, by skipping the 6th and 8th frets, this makes it easier to play that shuffle or boogie style.   I almost never seem to miss those frets.  If in doubt about what I mean, my video Mercury Blues (and some others) might demonstrate.
