  • Tom,  thanks for the idea.  Here are the lyrics:

    Junkyard Angel by Uncle John

I was seventeen when I bought that Oldsmobile.
Bought it at a junk yard, ohh what a deal.
It had a big V-8, A big V8 – made those tires squeal.

I had a part time job and it was all I could afford.
Drove it like a fool and always had it floored.
It was my junk yard Olds, my junk yard Olds, oh good Lord!

Second week I had it, I blew out a rear tire.
I met a junk yard girl and my heart just caught on fire.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, she was so fine.

I was in high school and she was a college girl
    I didn’t have a chance but I gave it a whirl.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, I wanted her.

She looked out of place workin’ the counter at the junk yard.
But her daddy owned the place and she needed a summer job.
She was a junk yard angel, a junk yard angel, she was so fine.

She shot me down fast, I never had a chance.
I was too young and too poor for a shot at that romance.
She was a junkyard angel, a junk yard angel, so fine
A junk yard angel, I wish she was mine. I wish she was mine.
  • Tom, that's a great idea!  LOL.   John, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • UJ thats a nice piece of work mate, You have given me the next project I think lol

  • Thanks guys.  Yes, the build is simple.   Thought maybe I overdid the stickers, but like it for now.  Action a bit high.   Needs a piezo.  Stickers were at O' Reilly Auto Parts and cheap.   Also the pin-striping used for fret markers.  Sounds pretty good acoustic.

  • Freekin' love this! Evertime I try t build something like this, I over do it a ruin it! This is an inspiration. Cheers!

  • I'd like to hear more details about the build.  It looks really cool.
