  • Thanks Ambrose, thanks Poorness. The tail piece is a leaf from a steamer (folds out like a flower petal). There are 24 petals per steamer. I’ve gone through 2 antique steamers and a few from my new steamer found at my grocery. I love them. The holes allow for any combination of strings from one string to 6 strings. One screw secures it.
    The deep box is perfect for the way I hold the instrument pinching it between my legs. And the box is narrow for bowing room.
  • Nice build Dave. I like the nice deep box. I always like the way it looks when you use a spatula (or whatever that is) for the tailpiece.
