Old Splotchy Top

I made the Tiger Maple grill and the Rosewood scratch plate. Also the compensated floating bridge. The tailpiece was added to fix a bridge that was pulling up and bowing up the top. Now it's flat with the down pressure of the Norma tailpiece.

  • I know the bridge is visually confusing. Under the original bridge there's this strange transfer in Red, Blue and Brown that came from an Asian newspaper. Just what it is doing there i don't know, but i liked it. Sort of a Ghost of the manufacture. Maybe my bridge should be dark wood like the scratchplate. I had a piece of Cherry, so that's what i used. I'll look for some dark hardwood. I think you'll like the C6th tuning, but it's kind of lounge lizzard sounding. I'm liking it for the contrast to the old DBG dobro tuning. I like Hawaiian style slide too and it puts you right there automatic.
  • Dave, the saddle area.  I am not sure about that, but it might grow on me....  The rest looks fantastic.  

    I have an old harmony that not make sound good in standard tuning.   Maybe I need to try some higher action and open tuning with it.   Thanks for the ideas.
