Curvy Box Guitar: The body is possibly an "old" wooden "curvy" trinket box that I bought from a newsagent which, oddly enough, also sold antiques. I decided to give this build a slightly worn and aged look to compliment the box. I stained and sympathetically "aged" the sapele neck and fitted brass frets. The box was lightly sanded, waxed and polished to bring out the colour detail. I made the nut, bridge saddle and the rear mounting bracket for the strings from brass bar. Pickup is an Original Flatpup Classic wound to 8k with a stained/aged wooden surround. Tone/Volume knobs are made from 14mm stained wooden beads embedded with 6mm Gold MOP fretboard dot inlays. The action is set so that I can comfortably play fretted and slide. Tuning is CGC. It produces a pleasant trebly tone when played unplugged.
