Old bar. . .New guitars. . .

Can't sell it. Can't auction it. Can't consign it. Can't give it away. So I'll chop it up and make guitars. It's all teak and imported form Thailand sometime in the mid 60's. Freakin' thing must weigh 400 pounds. I'm going to have to transport this back from Boston in pieces.

  • For anyone following this pic, I took the sawzall to it last weekend an no one should be too upset.  It was a good job of plywood and veneer, not solid teak.  I saved the columns and the decorative panels for guitar nonsense.  The rest went into a dumpster.

  • No one one wants to pay me plus a mover.

  • No craigslist or freecycle?

  • It is nice, but not our style, it doesn't match anything else and takes up too much room in our loft. Everyone loves it, but no one wants it. And they will all hate me for recycling it.
  • I've tried for a year to get rid of it. Previous owner didn't want to move it. If I sell to an individual, then they have to use pro movers because I am liable for any damage to the building while moving like torn carpets or wall damage. Auction houses don't want because too heavy and not old enough.
  • If I had a place for it I would take it just to keep it intact. Just looks too nice to chop up. ;-(

  • Oh man, what a shame to destroy that. Can't believe no one would buy that in a heart beat, especially with all the "Man Cave Craze" now and all the money in Boston???? I don't get it.
