I wanted to do a build in the shed of our new home in Ogden, Iowa, hence the name, Oggy for this relic style CBG.It plays and sounds good both plugged and un-plugged. It has no sound hole. As of now, I am not happy with the proportions. The box is small. I kept it short scale (55cm / 21 7/8 inches). But the proportion of box to neck does not look quite 'right'.The piezo was bought cheaply in a ten pack on ebay. It has self adhesive on the disc. I stuck it on the underside of the box lid (top) near the saddle and on the bass side.I did not add any shielding. It was a 5 min. installation with good results.

Looks good to me Unc. I like the long look. I noticed Shane Speal’s Chugger doesn’t have any hot wax, wood, bottle cap over it. Just the peizo glued direct on the lid. It sounds great. I don’t like the self adhesive though. I’ve had it let loose in a short time. Good for finding the sweet spot though.
I like it. It looks just dandy Unc J... I know where you're coming from, but to my mind, (though I haven't been doing this for very long) I reckon when we are talking making a poor man's guitar from a real cigar box... whatever's at hand will do a satisfactory job. I've got some smaller old wooden vintage? cigar boxes queueing up for me to make 'em sing.
Proportionally it looks fine to me 'UJ', the size & shape of this build is probably the contributing factor as to why the Little Critter sounds so "Nice", and as they say, if ain't broke don't fix it :-)
