This is the first CBG I built. I posted earlier but I've added electronics and fret markers. Lipstick pickup and piezo under the bridge with a 3 way selector. This one gets attention when I whip it out.

Ever since you first posted this build back in February, I've been searching for one of these Obelisco boxes. About three months ago, I found a cigar store locally that had a full box in his walk-in humidor, said he'd save it for me when it was empty. I go back and check every week, but so far he hasn't sold any of the cigars, and I'm not willing to pay $150 for a box of cigars I'm not going to smoke.
On my way home from work today, I swung around to a lumber yard to get some neck wood. When I left there, I passed a different cigar store that I had only been in once or twice 'cause he never had a good selection of boxes, but I thought, "What the heck, I'll take a look and see what they have today".
There up on top of the shelves was the Holy Grail I'd been looking for! I quietly took it down and brought it to the counter along with a Cohiba Churchill where the owner asked me where I found it. I sheepishly pointed to the shelf and he said, "Sorry, those up there aren't for sale, they're my personal collection." Dismayed, I pleaded with him, saying I'd pay anything for it. I fully expected him to come back with some ridiculous price, and I was prepared to go as high as $25 for it. He looked at me and said, "What the hell, go ahead and take it."
SCORE!!!!!!
It does have a couple of stress cracks in the rounded area under the clasp, but I can fill those. I may have to refinish the box because of that. I'd hate to lose the gold printing, but maybe I can duplicate it with a waterslide decal.
