close up of the inlay on the top of the box - destroyed by me to put in the pick up - I decided only to use the tools I had lying around for authenticity - which was not many - but the roughness adds to the charm I think

thanks a lot Jeff - I see you have the fever too! Once I realised I could do it it was, "okay, whats next?" The main thing I think though is to make sure they get played - I know from collecting guitars (a bit) that sometimes we can forget to use the thing for what it was made for - so don't forget to play! (and keep building - what are two necks destined for?)

Thats what its all about,
the box is way cool with the inlay, and I agree the rough edges give it a unique bit of authenticity.

Thanks - that really encourages me to get going on my next build - at the moment I'm really enjoying playing this one - soon as the family / holiday duties are over I'll post an audio / video of how it sounds. It so good to get encouragement like this.

Thanks - its an old jewelry box - a cheap holiday souvenir that was lying around the house - real wood inlays though - so when I was looking for a box I thought this would be ideal except it seemed a bit small before it was assembled and then it seemed like the scale was just right. I'm glad you like it.
