The thin veneer on the back was virtually hanging off, and it was just a matter of lifting one edge and easily pulling it off.This resulted in a only a very thin flimsy layer of ply being left, so decided to strengthen it with some 4mm thick recycled Venetian Blind Slats.

'UJ', Venetian Blind Slats were a very popular type of Window Covering in my area a few yrs back, but have since gone out of fashion, and end up being left out on the side of the road, when we have Council Clean Up Days, which is where a lot of my different recycled free! Timbers come from :-D
