  • LP style guitar with a bigsby looks great. Go for it!

  • Sounds like honest good plans, Stains.  Good wishes.

  • thanks pick! lol

to behonest U.John, i think that's why it was cannibalized, one of the preveious owners didn't know that some gibsons have an issue where the truss rod is tighter in it's pressure block than it should be, and gibson doesn't lube the nut or block (it's an offically licenced "knock off" from my understanding.). putting a set of string on and loosening will save this one(along with some oil). Hell, i've played Guit's in worse shape! As for some of the fun stuff your talking about, i'm in no way offened, but the body it about 1.38 inchs thick in the narrow parts. Its a solid body arch top..... and to be honest i don't have the the heart to saw up a prefectly good guitar...... but i know what you mean! the pick guard it has is a mess..... i just might make my own out of some left over cigar box wood.... we'll see... lol, i'm also lookin in to a bigsby tremolo, not original i know, but i have a soft spot for them!

and your thinking like me Jason, the animal that will come outta this might well be a "Phoenix"... lol

  • I see rise of the phoenix theme. looks like fun

  • Wonderful potential there.   How's the neck?

Stains, some folks would go for an original look.  No offense meant, but if you do that you will have a nice cheap arch top - nothing wrong with that....   But something funky seems called for...  license plate, reso (some nice cheap ones on ebay recently) --  I don't know.  Hope you have fun and get a player.

  • SWEET!
