Not a CBG, But!

My passion/addiction/therapy etc; for building and playing CBG’s has been severely interrupted over the past few weeks, due a lot of work that had to be done around the house ie: fixing and replacing leaky plumbing to swimming pool, replacing of swimming pool fences, and landscaping etc; owing to the unavailability of obtaining contractors for at least a month or two, I decided to undertake these tasks myself, against the advice of my family who seemed to think I was too old & cranky for that sort of crap!, however! I did complete the jobs at hand, and in the process saved a heap of money, the obvious thing to do with this money saved, was to reward myself with the gift (by me!, to me!) pictured. It's an Artist WBS200 Weissenborn Style Lap Slide Guitar

  • I know AGP. My best friend Dave Rodum got the Weisonborne from me. He had it for years then needed money and put it in the paper. Leo arrives at Dave's door. Sold. He never got over it. Me either. :^)
  • "Yup" the anonymous pick, I did thank me in my own way !! (re the picture posted) ;-)

  • "Thanks Uncle John"306539380?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • "Thanks Dave", I do remember from my early days on CBN your affection for Lap Slides, to have owned a real koa Weissenborn, which is now owned by one of the all time "Masters" Leo Kottke, takes the"WOW" factor to its upper most level !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds Great Carl, I had been looking at this one on the Artist site over the last month or so, I think it was originally priced in the high $600 range then dropped to abt $600, and when it came on sale for $549 I bought it, still have a lot of work to do on learning Lap Slide, and hopefully then appreciate the true sound and quality of the instrument.

  • hoped  ya  thanked  you  ;-)

  • Great gift for a cranky old dude.

  • It's no sin to get a new guitar. Unless it's a sin. I have a Wacoloa Weissenborn hollow neck. The sound is so smooth and beautiful. I had a real koa Weissenborn back in my art school days. Leo Kottkee owns it now. Enjoy APG. You deserve your beauty.
  • How's it sound? I know the Artist brand, didn't know they were in to selling Weissenborn style stuff though - cool!!

  • Yes! Carl , bought it new online just before Easter, so took a few days extra to arrive by Courier.
