Picked this Newcomb phono up at a garage sale this past summer, plugged it in and the amp and speaker are good. It's a 55 watt amp and a 12" speaker, has a stereo output, mic and aux. input, dual volume for mic and git, bass and treble. There is a tag on it that says it belonged to the Trinity Luthern Church in Fremont, Nebraska. Gonna get started on the build this weekend, hopefully :-/

You know the turn table "wants" to turn . Just get it to open up a little and caress it . Show it some love and it will turn for you . I see no reason to gut her because you have problems with who she is. You would like "storage space"for cords , slides and " Bluesman " tools ? Don't You Have A CIGAR BOX ?!?! @#%@# ! I guess we each live with our own sins . Do what you will," Maddog ". I'm sure I'll love it no matter how much you change it , but I'll always remember her the way she is now ! ;-) ha!ha!
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has pics talk to me Joel ;-)
The turn table wants to turn but will not so I am thinking I will remove the turn table and guts and make that space storage for cords, slides and other Bluesman tools. I haven't dug into it yet, got 3 gits in various stages about to finish and will dive into the Newcomb this weekend.
Great find !! A real piece of history . I wouldn't change a thing on this ! ....Okay........ I've been looking at this photo for a couple minutes now......... I can almost smell the musk and dust....... it's calling to me........ filling me with want....... the need to possess .....to plug in...and play along with a scratchy old blues record.......at the crossroads......... Get Behind Me Satan ! For I follow a righteous path . LORD Save Me !! ....... Thou shall not covet thy neighbors goods.....Thou shall not covet thy neighbors goods.... Thou shall not ...Sorry I think I got carried away for a moment . Has anyone else had problems with photos speaking to them on this site ?

No earplugs Reeds, but if a guy is deaf in one ear and can't hear outta the other like I am it should be fine ;-)
Does it come with ear plugs....Maddog that thing is going too roar!
It will have plenty of get up and go John. I like knowing the history behind stuff, somehow connects me to the build I guess?
I figure if it belonged to a Church it should crank out some rightous Gospel :-)
Should have some POWER. Neat to know the history.
