Thanks, Tres! Mystery solved! I'm gonna have to try a "weed whacker" build one of these days and see how it sounds!

The strings are weed whacker line, from 0.105" (low E) down to 0.060" (G). I use only piezos, as a magnetic pup would be kinda pointless. I'm told there are such things as optical pickups, but they cost like smoke compared to a $1.99 buzzer.
