New slide

Just finished this one up. 1-11/16" long, 7/8" ID, 1-3/16 OD. I used a grayish bone color Hi-Macs (similar to Corian, hard and super durable) for the slide portion and stabilized wood for the top portion. The orange is California Buckeye Burl while the burgundy and natural is Maple Burl, I do my own wood stabilizing in house since I supply a lot of custom knife makers.

  • Laminate, shape on the lathe, then drill the center.

  • So to do that do you laminate the pieces together and drill the center and shape the outside?  

  • Hey a socket works just fine, I think my favorite slide is still a piece of copper pipe, I guess I'm just used to it.

  • That's too cool. Lol. I was kinda proud when I figured out how to cut a socket so I would have a slide at all.
