This old gal arrived yesterday in a wooden packing crate made just for her. Early on Harmony made fake or "faux" reso guitars. I don't have the heart to cut out the fake cone to add a real one, so i'm going to rebuild this Faux back to near original.

I've found another # inside the back by the larger #. It is a circle with S-36 inside. Small, but it's there. The Harmony book "The People's Guitar" by Ron Rothman says that this indicates the summer run of 1936. 27 seemed wrong to me. 36 would be in the hay day of resonator guitars. 1936....
I'm not sure about the 1927. I've looked again at my Harmony history book and many of the stamped #s so tell the age, many don't. I know she's old though. The smell of the sawdust when sanding tells me that.
