When the neck first bowed (way back when) the solution was to take a slice out of the heal like a "dart" in sewing.

Thanks Uncle John, wish i could take credit for the rude solution to a bowed neck, but "Pupa" Ege did it (he's grampa to my lady). Our old house is full of his common sense solutions to make things work. We've got the history of portable radios in the basement. One from every decade since they first made them. His was Mr. fixit...
