NAF Tenor

All three Native American flutes were tuned to a diatonic scale. I found out later that they should have been pentatonic. Ah well. They still sound sweet to my ears.

  • Yes. I've made flutes out of metal, wood, bone and clay. I have never EVER gotten one to work first time. There's always a battle of wills. Most times I win, but not always. I'm almost always at the point of cursing up a storm and -- voila -- now it works. If there's some trick to reducing the time spent cussing and fussing, I haven't learned it yet.

    I wish there was a pentatonic tuning, but I can get that info elsewhere.
