Mystery Guitar - Can anyone identify?

There is no label on this guitar...it's got a nice body and neck, so we're going to rebuild it with a new faceplate and electronics. Anyone recognize it?

  • Shall do, Thank's Rusty Pup, Cheer's.

  • I would talk to a member here named The Anonymous Pick. He's forgotten more about classic (?) Japanese guitars than I've ever learned. He's the go-to guy for questions about them.

  •  Cool, I wasn't too far off then, they were imported by Jack too, I think they were the first, there was Teisco, Teisco Kawai, Cort, Hiyashi etc, you wouldn't happen to know anything about the Emperador Sunburst Bass a copy of the 1958 Fender Precission Bass would you Rusty ? been trying to find out as much as possible about that, not sure what company made them, there was a few over the year's, I just know mine's pre 1973 but that's about it, had a Teisco Bass actually and sold it to buy the Emperador hey, Cheer's

  • Mystery solved! It's a Teisco model E-110 - affectionately known as the Tulip.

  • I would hazzard a good guess that it's an Emperador or similar, they were made in Japan in the 60's & 70's, then Korea. They were imported to the state's by Jack Westheimer back then, I have an Emperador Bass, sunburst colour that I bought back around 1973, it only has the name on the headstock, no other writing like model or serial no's hey, They were based on Fender copie's and other Japanese maker's also did Gibson copie's etc, hope this help's and if you find out could you let me know please but I'm guessing it's an Emperador, Cheer's.
