This week, I will begin to build a guitar to be used in a Chinese auction at a fundraiser for a local family. Their 17 month old baby boy ran behind a car as it was backing out of a driveway. Sadly, he didn't survive. His family will suffer with their loss, but they decided to donate his organs and they know of 4 or 5 other lives he has already saving. This will be a build that comes with many tears.

Yes. My stepson works with him. I guess he is a wreck. His driving record, I'll just say was not perfect and he had a restricted license for traveling to work only. I'm not sure if he was driving legally or not. Either way, I'm sure he is going through a lot right now....especially if he was driving illegally. If that's the case, the guilt has to weigh even more heavy, knowing it wouldn't have happened if he wasn't purposely breaking the law. Let's face it, if he was driving illegally, he's not the first, nor will he be the last. Having that poor babies death on his conscience is not something I'd wish onto anyone. Its a sad situation for all of those involved.
It's very sad. I don't know the family but I know who the grandma is and we have mutual friends. I saw her post from when she just heard about it and was rushing to the hospital. That poor little boy became famous overnight in our area. Posts about his progress were shared and then we finally saw where tests were showing there was no brain activity. The parents were then asked to make that unimaginable decision.....to take him off life support and allow other babies in need to have a chance at life by receiving his organs. I can't imagine having that question to be faced with. Just terrible. To make things worse, the one that accidentally ran him over was the mom's ex, which she has an older daughter to. As I said, this will certainly be an emotional build. I'll be thinking about that baby while I build it.
