This 4-stringer features a "thru-the-box" neck attached to the inside of the cigar box lid. The neck is made of poplar and stained (Ipswich Pine) and two coats of polyurethane. I later added the two sound holes, but did not notice any discernible difference in volume. The neck strap is from an old camera. This instrument is my 3rd cigar box guitar. The first was a one stringer which served the purpose of figuring out how to attach the neck to the box. The second was a 3-stringer designed around a 'Brick House' cigar box. My daughter managed to open it and bread the hinges off that one. I did salvage the neck and used it in this build.
