Robert, John, good ideas abound. I think a birdhouse guitbox might be nice. I've wanted to make a "rustic guitar" to make a sign for the lake places fence up on the road. I think it will be a dual purpose facility... and i've wanted to make a birdhouse uke, at least the birdhouse theme applied to a build. Here's my sign for Birdhouse Ukulele. I got a uke with the back sawed off in a grab bag of ukes on ebay. Someone sawed it in half to look inside i guess. Anyhow, here's what i did with it.:
True Uncle John, two years ago i started making bird houses and feeders. 41 of them later, i started building guitars. I've got birdhouses all over our lake place. A birdhouse is a lot like a guitar. It's all in the hole, you know... and the idea became my business name: Birdhouse Ukulele. I spend about as much on feed for chipmunks, squirrels and birds as i do on my own food.

Actually, I have a uke I am working on. If it fails as a player... I may deepen the back and use it as a bird house.
