The neck on mine goes all the way to the end of the can. The stick is attached to the neck underneath so it drops down. It punches thru the can and then I make the angle I want the neck to be and then put a screw threw the bottom of the can to hold it all in place. Also the screw usally holds the tail piece too.

Very nice! A buddy of mine just gave me an old 1 gal. gas can and I can't wait to build it. Can you give me any pointers on attaching the neck?

Looks good. I have a can in the shop and never get around to using it. Kind of bigger than I like - deeper.
Linda and I have both been using one of my 2 Lowe cone builds a lot. Used in a couple of vids. I seem to like the way they sound for DGB tuning.
