I found it easiest to play banjo tuning if I stopped thinking about it. I can't play great, but if I just let my ears do the work it turns out a lot better.
Yup. I'd love to be able to play claw hammer style, but failed in the past. I am building the unplanned banjo right now. Did not know and do not know if it will be fretted, fretless, 3, 4 or 5 strings or kindling. I may have hurt the chances for a 5 string by routing the neck last night. I meant to wait on that and maybe add a 1/4 inch side board for the high G. Hmm.

I have been managing the simpler stuff, but I can really play a 3 string compared to this. That high G string makes it feel really foreign.
Purty easy to strum the G, C and D7 chords.
Ugh. I can't play banjo. I gotta find someone who can. I'm still setting her up. Pics once I finish shaping the bridge.
