Me and Rod Wellington

Not CBG related but very interesting. This gent is Rod Wellington from Ontario Canada, he is kayaking the the Missouri River from source to sea. A journey of over 3,800 miles, he stopped by my restaurant last week and I fixed him up with some water, soda's and food then he was off down the river. Here's a link to his website and his amazing journeys he has planned.http://zeroemissionsexpeditions.comI'm the one without the dreads :-)

  • Thanks for checking it out Phillip, Rod's hoping to reach the Gulf of Mexico and New Orlean's by Mardi Gras in mid February 2013. He's in Saint Joseph, Missouri right now so he's on track I believe.

  • thanks for sharing...°<[:-))))))=={...

  • That's a heck of a trip from my place to the Gulf Wes and that's only half of his trip! I actually thought of the paddle git also after meeting Rod, great minds think alike eh? I probably have a few short paddles buried somewhere in one of the buildings, well I'm off to start digging.

  •  I like this story , being an old Iowa boy and a current Colorado white water rafter !     From Maddog's house to the gulf would be a heck of a trip !      Now I need to find a short paddle to make a CBG .

  • Yes it is Wes. There are very few things that really spark my interest (CBG's is one), this story of this brave gent taking on such a long journey has peeked my interest. Probably because it is something I have always thought I would like to do. Takes a special person to do what Rod is doing, there is a lot of physical punishment associated with a journey of this magnitude.

  • well..  bob  drives a civic    ,, and  he  spells  that  backwards too  .  so   there's  yer   problem .

     ;-)

  • That is a very long way Thomas.

    Dang Pick, I don't know how that happened. I even asked my friend BOB how to spell it ;-)

  • ps...   you  spelled "kayak"   backwards    .. silly .

    ;-)

  • That's a long ways in a little boat. Amazing journey!

  • You are at that Pick, you are at that.
