yes i have a small modlers lathe in my Bedroom / workshop , it's a metal working lathe but i add a brass tool rest to the tool post and rest my chisles on that , i have a large wood lathe in the shed but its a bit overkill for turning knobs lol! theres some pics on here of both my lathes
a lathe is a good addition to any shop , you can make all sorts
