Having never touched a mandolin before making this, I too didn't realise that the strings had loop ends until i bought some! So I just improvised a bit and made that saddle.
I like your string anchors and the fretwire bridge. Good stuff. I'm planning to make an oil can banjo in the not-to-distant, and have only recently discovered that banjo strings have looped ends, so I'll be doing something similar for string anchors myself.
