  • My guess is that the body sides are made from two lengths of wood which were steamed or soaked until pliable and bent over a mold, clamped and left to dry. Once dry they were glued together using a head block and a tail block and a bunch of clamps. Now you have glued on kerfing strips and have clamped them in place using clothes pins and that is what we are seeing in the photo above. Is the length of wood clamped on cross-wise from head block to tail block is to help hold the shape of the frame? Or what?
