    So what is the secret of cutting off a bottle neck? I have tried on 3 bottles and haven't ended up with one that I could use.

    i make all my slides from wine bottles now , came up with an excellent way to hack em off and smooth em out . i'm a toolmaker by trade and must agree with andy , an accident waiting to happen , saftey first ! glasses and hair ties !

    I Do agree, Ive gotten my share of metal in the eye even with my regular specks on and if your lucky you'd only loose a Clump of hair(painfully)
    Btw, those brass slides, are those machined down from brass plumbing pipe

    Fleur, Please tie your hair back and wear safety glasses when you do that! This photo scares the hell out of me, I would hate to see you get hurt.
