Another prototype: 31 5/8” scale length with GGD Tuning. Surf GD with 200 and 100 lb test fishing line, Turf G with .080 trimmer line (tuned to the G string of a 4-string bass). Disc piezo, 3D printed parts, custom headless tuners. Sounds kind of like a guitar and bass at the same time!

Thanks Kale! The bass G has just enough tension to be tunable and less volume than the other two strings, so no bass runs on it, but it does a good job of fattening up the tone without drowning out the higher end. It responds best to a soft hand, so I’ll have to up my level of finesse.

That's a very cool idea Doug. I love how you work to make these instruments accessible to everyone.
