Wes, I think it's mahogany. I found it in an alley about 15 years ago. Someone was rehabbing a stately old lakefront home and had thrown it out. 1"x8"x 8' or 10'. i've been saving it. Very tight, even grain. It grows very slowly. It's easy to work but very stable.
