Hey some of my parts came today , i orderd 3 stainless steel 2 way Truss rods and the Ass Hole only sent me one ,got intouch with him he said he ovrelooked the order , he didnt overlook the money i paid him thought .. the cheek eh!!

So you have motivated me - Iv taken the plunge and bought some proper tools... a set of 5 very old Sorby's for a tenner! Got the next blank on the lathe ready for their arrival :o)

what you need is some good Sheffield Steel tools , they will hold a edge for a good while , and last a lifetime , mind you they would need to with the cost of em !

Bloody hell, thats a big lump to spin! My cheap ebay tools wouldnt last turning something that big.... I have to sharpen them 3 times just to turn an egg cup....
Best send it to me then , i could accomadate that on the lathe no messin , can turn a bowl upto 52" dia and 22" over the bed and 48" between centres , never had anything to turn that big though , biggest thing i turned was a 18" square bowl sounded like a proppeller when it was spinning and real hard to see the edge , but i managed it in the end vith very shakey hands lol!!
