I'm new to CBGs, but I've built of instruments before.
I owe what I know about instrument building to an old fiddle builder/player that lived not far from me when I was in my teens. I always had decent wood working skills, but that old guy taught me a lot more. He was the person everyone brought their instruments to when they needed repair, so I got to see him work on many different Instruments.
He taught me a lot of how to play together in jams too. I learned a bunch of old fiddle tunes that I still play on banjo today from him. He passed away last year at 94 years old. I was blessed to have known him.
I turned a few friends on to this website and they are getting hooked too. I've had several requests to make CBGS, and I've only been at this for a month now.

There's also a clamp holding the neck from moving sideways. You can't see it in the picture, but it is very much needed.
I gotta get me one of those do-hickey clamps. Great idea.
Well thank Paddy O,

Wow, Looks like it's built by a seasoned builder.
Thanks Uncle John,

Looking good.
