I'm building one (my 1st reso) like this with the exact same cakepan. Putting it in a small Cohiba box. Where do you suggest putting the pickup and what kind exactly? I don't know anything about the pickups.

nice one brother Brian ! , looks cool bro , aluminium does sound better than Steel or stainless steel it resonates better , i've read that the cardboard box's sound better than a lot of the wooden ones , it also said that MDF sounds good but looks CRAP lol!- be good for you to compare the Cardboard v's Wood ! - let us know the results

its a mini angel food cake pan,spun aluminum and it is louder than i expected it to be fer such a small cardboard box. cant wait to try it again on a wood box,bound to be louder in a wood box. the cake pan was less than 3 bucks shipping included. thanks fer the comments fellers.
