  • My name is Von Manchester, Jay was the guys name that I built that guitar for. I build guitars for a living and to be honest I just don't have the time to do a "how to" on guitar building but there is a ton of info available on this site and really all over the internet. Or you could do like me, just buy some boxes and go to building and learn as you go. You would probably be surprised at what you could come up with. Start with simple builds with pretty much square necks and just start scupting the necks a little more and a little more. Really no secret for me, I use very basic tools. Just get a dremel with little sanding cup and scupt it and then do a ton of sanding until it looks right and feels right. One tip though is make sure the piece of wood you are using for the neck is perfectly square to start off or else the fingerboard wont line up since it will be square. Master neck building and the rest is just simple placement.  Hope this helps you!

  • Jay,

you guys with all these fantastic builds should make how to'o for all us geezerswith too much time on our hands and a love of craft...generally.

  • Thanks Mark, it was a pretty easy build. Customer said he wanted a tilt back fender style headstock, flat neck for table use, gave the neck width, string spacing at nut and spacing at bridge so all I had to do was build it.

  • i would seriously like to see how you designed and built this.  great job.
