    Yup the stand is pine stained then rubbed back and oiled and the box was delaquoured and then refinished with sandpaper dipped in danish oil - this kicks ass and is now the only finish I plan on using from now on!

    Very pretty wood grains. So you sanded off the lacquer and then rubbed the oil?

    This box was originally stained and laqoured, now I am a danish oil convert after a tip from nationites
