Definitely more fun than watching the game yesterday. Five Righty GD Chugger CBGs. 23" scale length, steel string, acoustic. Necks made from 2 x 4s. 3D printed components including the fretboard. Three of these will be giveaway guitars; maybe all of them.

Thanks for the encouraging words Kale! I had some fun with color on these builds. Maybe I'm just getting tired of black. I'm always getting new ideas, even when I'm building these simple kits.
I love the ways you work to make CBGs more accessible Doug. This is really good stuff.
You are correct BrianQ; the volume of steel strings is louder than the flourocarbon ones. I like both for different reasons.
A perfect 2 x 4 x 8 would yield 20 necks! I use my table saw to slice the 17" cutoffs into 4 neck blanks which I plane down a little to clean them up and process them from there. Knots typically cut down the number of usable blanks. Compared to using 1 x 2s from Lowe's or Home Depot, the price is a bargain and with a coat of stain the look pretty good.
Kool, I bet the volume is a lot bolder than the monofilament strings? You're probably getting 3 necks from a 2 x 4?
