  • Here is a tip i love as well. If ya use walnut for fretboards.,or necks . rub cherry wood stain on top of the walnut.. it will give it a special walnut cherry glow. makes the fretboard really special. Keep up the good work. Love to see what your building..

  • Thanks for the info on the Tru-Oil Papa D, have just ordered an 8oz Bottle of Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil Gun Stock Wood Finish Liquid, to add to my growing list of Wood Finish supplies. :-)

  • Agp ! That tru oil is the best, a 8 oz bottle will last ya a very long time, use it on wood or paper boxs for that pro look, wipe on with small rag, let dry 2 hours and repete for wood. on final coat scuff with 000 steel wool. mix 50 50 mineral oil and tru oil rub on final coat for that extra shine, for paper boxs i use 1 or 2 coats to keep paper stuck to the boxs and hide imperfections ,You can thank me latter,,

    Thanx guys for the comments

  • Nicely turned out CBG.  That Tru Oil has brought the vibrancy out of that box!

  • Very Nice Build Papa D, Love the Black Hardware, and choice of Vol Tone Controls, have heard about  the use of Tru-Oil quite a bit over the years, but have never tried it myself, just had a quick look on Ebay for some, and it ain't cheap in the Land Down Under, with 11 coats I'm guessing/hoping, a little bit goes a long way ???  :-)

  • Thanx Guys,

  • EEE-LEVIN coats of True Oil!!~~   Pretty box.  All good.  9s, Papa.  Higher 9s.

  • Sharp looking CBG. The black hardware looks great contrasting with the rich wood finish!
