Tailpiece

I originally drilled the holes too high, so I added another set and weaved the strings through. It's not ideal. I think I'll add tiny screws in the top holes to anchor the strings, which will exit the lower holes.

  • Thanks! It sounds fairly clean and the volume isn't bad--electrically it's about the same, only louder. I just tuned it in open G, looking at the "how to play" links now.

    Regarding the F-holes, I wanted long graceful ones that worked with the long box, but I didn't want to jam the knobs up, so I abreviated the one--I think it balanced out okay. Oh, I also routed a large relief on the inside of the top because it was almost half inch plywood.

  • I like everything about this guitar! The headstock is lovely, I like the one and a half f-holes, the fact that the through neck is scooped out, but I especially like the ladal tailpiece. Very nice work. How does it sound?
