Eastern red cedar from a massive and gnarly 100s year old tree that died on my father's property a few years ago. Lowe cone and tailpiece. Piezo under the cone, but it doesn't need it. Sounds great.

Thanks UJ. I've had that cone, cover and sound hole screens for at least six months now - waiting for the right project. Then my cousin-in-law asked if I could build something special for her beau for Christmas, a guitar player in a couple of local bands. I said "I have just the thing...." I love the wood from that cedar tree - dark and marbled. I built a couple of diddly-bos a week or to ago and my customer's jaw dropped and asked if I built his instruments out of cocobolo (posting a pic soon).
Ditto - I had a hole saw just the right size. It was a snug fit, but I added a thin bead of glue on the lip to make sure they wouldn't fall out or start to buzz if they ever loosened up..
very nice work,, I bought some of the same sound hole covers from CBGITTY,. How do you attach yours, I used a piece of scrap to test it out and made a nice and tight fit. tapped it in.

That wood and git are both beautiful. I saw your profile face somewhere yesterday and thought, 'No Bob lately.' Good to see such a great build.
