Hi John, you be careful with that spear now. The Japanese have great Carp tattoo designs such colourful fish. A friend of mine has them in a pond, very expensive, he covers the pond with a net as the seagulls find them very tasty.
Wonderful, George. Carp. I know they are a sport fish in the UK and Europe. In the U.S. most fisherman consider them a trash fish. I remenber fishing a lake in the 60s where if you caught a carp, they wanted you to throw it on the bank and leave it. But carp are such fun to catch - they pull like tractors. And if you know how to prepare them, they are good to eat.
There have always been people in the US that do fish for carp and now that we have more Asian Americans, it seems like a lot of them fish for them and eat them. They have the know how. In my state, you can hunt carp and other 'rough fish' with a bow and arrow or spear.
