  • Good idea on the access panel. I thought I'd do the same. I'll cut off the back panel on mine and build a wood frame inside the can. Two end pieces of 1x4 for the shoulder blocks with pockets for the neck through. I'll screw the blocking in place. My can is very rusty inside so I'll give the inside a good coat of varnish to seal the rust in. I'll use the can's cap for a volume knob. :^)
  • Dave it's my first off center also and it just so happened to fit, imagine that! And I wanted to keep the handle. I've cut the bottom completely out for better access of the interior and am going to make a wood base cover.

  • Nice!

  • I like how you resolved the neck position to save the can handle. I've not tried an off center neck before.
  • Yeah Dave it's sturdy but I figured why not start with a new can before I find a vintage one and screw it up. And thanks Uncle John.

  • I just started a gallon can build. My can's pretty crusty. Your's looks sturdy.
  • Good luck.
