  Fretting template also has indicators for diatonic scale and the 1/2 fret(s)...

  My neck notching template, attached a 1-7/16" piece of wood flush with notched section of template, center it mark each side of notch then slide template over enough to mark bottom depth mark its quick and shows how far to cut down, I usually cut to bottom line remove waste and use fine file for fitting of neck.
