You know, I thought about it and decided not to. Maybe next time, I will give that a shot, but with the tension on the strings, I don't know if I want to remove that thicker material for the thinner, curved pieces in a regular fiddle. I might experiment.
Have to add a little material to the back of the fiddle so that all the lengths are correct, but it's almost done. I have spent about 12 hours total on this and maybe have 1 or 2 to go.

looking good - are you not giving the box a waist line for the bowing action ?
I really hope it can play a tune, otherwise it will be a nice wall decoration, I think.
