  • I used liquid pigment bottles to tint the paint. I sometimes directly uses acrylic paint tube dimmed sponge with several coats of varnish.

  • Keda is the name of a company that sells powder you mix with water to dye the wood, not stain.  It comes in Blue, Red, Yellow, and Brown I think?  You mix it with hot water, put it on your wood till you get the color you want.  You can get varying shades of many colors.  I used red on maple with 4 coats, then went over with blue 2x. It came out a real nice purple for a Kalimba I built.  I finished the Kalimba with Minwax wipe on poly.
